This page is for distributors, C&F agents, stockists, wholesalers and chemists who bill in Marg today and want to move to ValueSoft. It covers what our team moves for you, what to keep ready, what to check after the move and how your daily work runs in ValueSoft.
What moves from Marg to ValueSoft?
You do not re-type your data. When you switch, our team moves two things into ValueSoft for you:
All master data
The lists your billing runs on, such as items, customers, suppliers and account ledgers.
Your bills
Your old bills come across too, so past sales and purchases stay at hand in ValueSoft.
Done by our team
The data work is ours. Your part is to keep the reports ready and check the result.
Every business keeps its data a little differently. Before the move, ask our team to confirm what will come across from your Marg data, for example how far back your bills go, so there are no surprises on the day you go live.

Go live
From the cut-over date, make every new bill in ValueSoft.
What should I keep ready before the move?
First pick a cut-over date: the day your last Marg bill is made and your ValueSoft billing begins. The first day of a month is a sensible choice, because each month's GST returns then come from one software. Then get these ready from Marg as on that date:
- A backup of your Marg data. Take it before anything else and keep it on a separate drive. It is your safety copy.
- Closing stock list. Item-wise quantity and value, batch-wise with expiry dates and MRP. Print it or export it to Excel.
- Party outstanding. What each customer owes you and what you owe each supplier, bill by bill if you can.
- GST returns filed up to date. File GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for every month you billed in Marg before you go live.
- Pending orders. Customer orders not yet billed, and orders sent to suppliers but not yet received.
- Open breakage and expiry claims. Goods sent back to suppliers or to the company that are not settled yet.
- Bill formats and printers. A printed sample of each bill you use, and the printer it prints on: laser, inkjet or dot-matrix.
- Supplier purchase files. A list of suppliers who send their bills as CSV, Excel or PDF files, with one sample file from each.
What should I check after the move?
Run the same report in both software for the cut-over date and compare. Match the totals first, then check a few entries one by one.
- Opening stock. Total quantity and value should match. Then open your ten fastest-selling items and check each batch, its quantity and its expiry date.
- Outstanding. Total receivable and total payable should match. Check your five largest customers bill by bill.
- Ledgers. Compare cash, bank and GST ledger balances, and the trial balance totals.
- Old bills. Open a few bills from different months and check the party, items, rates, discounts, tax and total.
- GST rates and HSN codes. Make sure each item carries the rate you charge today.
- Printing. Print a test bill on every printer you use.
- Internal audit. Run ValueSoft's internal audit. It checks your data and your suppliers' GSTINs and flags errors.
If a figure does not match, tell our team before you start billing. A difference is easy to trace on day one and much harder after a week of new bills.
What changes in your daily work?
The jobs stay the same: billing, purchase, stock and GST. What changes is how each one runs.
Billing
While you make a bill, ValueSoft offers the batch that expires first, so older stock goes out first (FEFO, first expiry, first out). It shows the product's history and your last deal with that party, and warns you before a low-margin or near-expiry sale. Bills print your drug licence number and the buyer's. Discounts and free quantities go on the same screen, and you can keep sale, purchase and report windows open side by side.
Batch and expiry
Stock is kept batch-wise with MRP and expiry date. Near-expiry reports run company-wise for 30, 60 or 90+ days ahead. Damaged goods are tracked supplier-wise as settled or pending, and expired stock moves out through self-breakage. Schedule H, H1 and Narcotics reports are part of the report list, and the Schedule H1 report records the doctor's and patient's name and address with the batch and expiry of each sale.
Purchase entry
Import supplier invoices from CSV, Excel or PDF files. You map each supplier's format once, the same way for all three, and you can map a new supplier yourself. ValueSoft works out PTS (price to stockist) and PTR (price to retailer) from the margin you enter.

GST returns, e-invoice and e-way bill
Export GSTR-1 in Excel, CSV or JSON, or file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B from the software. Reconcile GSTR-2A and GSTR-2B with your purchases for one or many months, so you see ITC (input tax credit) mismatches before you file. E-way bills and e-invoices are made from the bill in one click, and the IRN and QR code print on the invoice. To use e-invoice, you create an API user for ValueSoft on the e-invoice portal; our e-Invoice registration guide shows each step.
Mobile apps
The eOwner app shows sales, stock, ledgers and outstanding on your phone. Salesmen book orders on the CSR app and retailers order on the eRetail app. The apps exchange data with ValueSoft through Kala Softech's server, and orders from the Owner App can be turned into bills automatically.
For C&F agents and stockists
ValueSoft keeps stock and accounts company-wise (principal-wise). It handles stock transfer between branches, godowns or sub-stockists, and tracks breakage, expiry and scheme claims with the company until they are settled.
